Community Message Board: 100 Reasons to Love Suzzallo Library
Submit your reason and we’ll add it to the online celebration page to be posted in winter quarter! This could be a favorite memory, a story, a poem, something you appreciate about the library, or just a celebratory comment! We look forward to sharing your responses with a goal of reaching at least 100 reasons!

Centennial Tours
2nd Wednesday of each month 12PM-1PM. No reservations required.
Join your guide on a walk through one of the most iconic buildings on campus, learn about “hidden gems” and unique details about the building’s architecture, art and history. Meet your tour guide inside the main entrance of Suzzallo Library (outside the Suzzallo Starbucks).
Scavenger Hunt/Trivia
Submit answers to questions about Suzzallo Library’s history, architecture and more. Show your completed online trivia form to library staff at the information desks in Suzzallo or Allen library for a special prize while supplies last!
Events and Exhibits

Starting October 7: First Wednesday Concerts – – This annual program of UW School of Music performances takes place in the Allen Library North Lobby on the first Wednesday of each month. This year, the concert themes will be dedicated to Suzzallo’s 100th.
Sept 30, 2026 – Aug 20, 2027: “A Century of Stories: Suzzallo Library Through the Years”, Special Collections lobby display. Suzzallo Basement level.
October 13 – EXHIBIT: “Behind the Name of the Library: Henry Suzzallo and His Croatian Roots,” curated by Branka Bezić Filipović (former head of the Croatian Heritage Foundation in Split, Croatia) drawing on materials held in Croatian archives and the University of Washington’s Department of Special Collections. With remarks by visiting Croatian dignitaries, traditional Croatian music and folk dance.”
January 11- Suzzallo Exhibit (throughout Winter & Spring 2027). Grand opening and celebration TBA. Allen Library North Lobby.
