Duties
- Monitor and respond to Help Desk tickets for computing assistance for more than 900 public and staff computers.
- Assist Libraries’ staff with their computing issues via email, in-person visit, or remote visit.
- Setup/install supported computers and other hardware, and repair/replace computer or other equipment components.
- Deploy images and reimage public and staff workstations, as needed.
- Configure and troubleshoot issues with various Windows applications.
- Assist ITS-DS User Support Services with large volume hardware deployments and other projects, as needed.
- Participate as a member of the Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP) Committee, which makes recommendations on how to spend the UW Libraries’ Student Technology Fee (STF) Block Fund.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with Windows 10 Operating System and Microsoft Office productivity applications (Office 365 preferred).
- Must be able to lift and move 20 lbs.
- Available for at least 4 quarters.
Desired Qualifications
- Customer service experience.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Computer hardware knowledge.
Other Job Details
On-the-job training and guidance provided. Must be willing to develop interpersonal skills working with a diverse group of users and/or team members across a wide spectrum of technical abilities. Must be able to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision. Work is performed onsite.
