Job Title: Geographic Information Systems Lab Student Specialist

Location/Department: GMMN – Seattle

Rate: $22.37/hr

Hours: 10-15

Duties

  • Staff a 21 seat GIS (Geographic Information Systems) lab.
  • Assist GIS users with finding geospatial data and executing GIS software operations.
  • Provide consultation on GIS software and data questions.
  • Software trouble-shooting.
  • Data identification, retrieval, transfer and manipulation to produce maps.
  • Documentation writing.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience using ArcGIS Pro and geospatial data to create maps for analysis.
  • Completion of at least 1 of the following courses or equivalent: GEOG 360, GEOG 460, ESRM 250, URBDP 498 (GIS), CEE 424, OCEAN 452.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Web editing skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical procedures orally and in writing.

  • Public Service experience.
  • Technical Documentation writing.
  • Technical Training experience.
  • Programming.
  • Database/information systems background
