The Position
Job Title: Marketing Assistant
Location/Department: Seattle – UW Press Marketing Department
Rate: $21.30/hr
Hours: 12-19.5/week; Between M-F, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Duties
- Execute tasks, as directed, to meet overall sales and marketing strategies and goals
- Coordinate book award submissions
- Take and edit photographs and videos for digital product listings and social media
- Utilize design templates to create drafts of marketing materials, such as press releases, emails, social media, posters, flyers, banners, etc.
- Order exam, desk, and review copies of books as requested
- Participate in planning and executing social media strategy and activities
- Attend select author events as available
- Monitor emails and provide customer service as needed
- Provide general administrative support for the department, such as data-entry into press’s title management system, and shipping books to and from the office.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working with databases
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively
Desired qualifications
- Interest in exploring a career in book publishing
- Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite
