The Position
Job Title: Monographic Receiving Student Specialist
Location/Department: Acquisitions & Rapid Cataloging Services – Seattle
Rate: $22.37/hr
Hours: 12 hours per week; Monday-Friday only, between 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Duties
Assist in the daily operations of the Monographic receiving section of the Acquisitions & Rapid Cataloging Services division, Suzzallo Library.
Duties as assigned include:
- Maintaining shelf and workspace organization for acquisitions areas, sorting and unpacking books and other incoming purchased material.
- Verifying incoming materials for correctness and receiving in the Libraries’ Ex-Libris Alma database and Access monographic receiving database
- Search and create records as needed for orders and gifts, identify duplicates.
- Assist in the receiving and activation of electronic books.
- Other office duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to type/key accurately and with speed.
- Able to perform very detailed, routine work with accuracy.
- General knowledge of MS Office software.
- Good communication skills.
- Follow instructions with minimal supervision and maintain scheduled hours.
- Able to lift 45 pound boxes.
- Reading knowledge of one European language (ex. French, German, Italian or Spanish; fluency not required).
Desired qualifications:
- Prior library work experience.
- Experience with library databases such as Ex Libris Alma and OCLC.
- Available to work at least two or more quarters, including summers.
- Reading knowledge of an additional language, European or other (ex. Asian languages)
