The Position
Job Title: Reference Services Student Assistant
Location/Department: Reference Services- Seattle
Rate: $21.30/hr
Hours: 10-19.5; Sunday-Friday and some University Holidays
Positions available: 4-5

Duties
- Provide assistance to library users at the Allen, Suzzallo, and Research Commons Help Desks
- Quick information and directional assistance
- Assist with self-service printing and scanning
- Assist with building lost & found
- Help with the Libraries Web site, including basic assistance with Libraries resources.
- Refer questions to other library units/services as appropriate
- Check out library materials and other circulation duties.
- Answer telephone
- Project work as assigned
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work without direct supervision.
- Must have strong verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in, and a strong desire to provide, public service.
