Trouble logging in with UW NetID?

Please do NOT create a new account.

UW users occasionally have problems logging into Interlibrary Loan with their UW NetID.

If you receive an Authentication Failed error, try closing ALL your browser windows and restarting your browser. This error usually occurs on computers that are left running constantly with browser windows open.

Alternate Strategies

Here are some alternate strategies that may solve this and other login problems:

  • Restart Windows.
  • Check the date and time settings on your computer.
    • Dates prior to 2000 or off in the future can cause problems. Use Windows’ “Date/Time” control panel applet to make sure your clock is set to the correct date, time, time zone, and daylight savings status. You can use the UW Home Page or the time.gov website to determine the current local time.
  • Point your browser directly at Interlibrary Loan.
    • Hotmail and other email services can interfere with the login process. If you are trying to link to Interlibrary Loan from within a web-based email system, it may be blocking the connection. Try opening a new browser window and type
      https://duwamish.lib.washington.edu

directly into your browser’s address field. Press Enter.
