Odegaard Library Room 220 is a meeting and workshop space located on the 2nd floor of Odegaard Library.

Odegaard Library is accessible to current UW students, faculty, and staff only and requires a valid Husky Card for entry.

Use of the space incurs a fee that is chargeable to a Cost Center and Worktag.

Room 220 is suitable for meetings, lectures, and workshops hosted by UW organizations for the benefit of the UW community.

Room 220 is not equipped for interactive online/hybrid meetings (unless you bring your own technology).

Room 220 is also not suitable for events with non-UW attendees, or for use as a classroom space.

Odegaard Library Room 220

  • Calendar year within library open hours.
  • Weekdays (Monday-Friday) only, 8am-5pm
  • Interim hours, 9am-4:30pm
  • No evenings, weekends, or holidays (even if library is open)

Fees are levied in half hour increments, with a 2-hour minimum charge.

Cost Center and Worktag information required as payment.

  • University organizations holding an event for students, faculty, and/or staff only: $50/hour
  • University organizations holding an event for students, faculty, and/or staff with (very limited) non-UW attendees: $60/hour

Room set up and breakdown/clean-up by Libraries staff: $50/hour

Requests to cancel your reservation must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Once the reservation is confirmed, cancellation fees are assessed at the following rates:

  • Cancellation 8 – 30 Days Prior to Event: 50% of Estimated Room Rental
  • Cancellation 0 – 7 Days Prior to Event: 100% of Estimated Room Rental

There are two setups available for Room 220. The default room set-up is workshop style (pictured above). There is no additional charge for default set-up. There is a $50 charge for lecture style setup.

  • Default/Workshop (maximum 72 seated, each pod seats 6): Tables in chevron configuration
  • Lecture (72 seated): Tables and chairs

  • Odegaard Library is accessible to current UW students, faculty, and staff only and requires a valid Husky Card for entry.  Non-UW guests are allowed if the number is less than 10 and a request for exception(s) is received at least 3 days in advance of the event.
  • Room is set up by library staff and any changes needed must be organized by library staff. Furniture moving is not allowed by the organizer or attendees. Any damage to the room, furniture or equipment will be charged to the departmental budget.
  • Sound from an event must not impact students studying in the vicinity of room 220.  If students are impacted you will be required to reduce the volume. 
  • No Barbecue cooking or propane tanks (chafing dish fuel cans permitted for food warming).
  • Only painters tape is allowed to affix papers to the fabric walls, no pins and no heavy notices. 
  • Area outside of Room 220  may not be used as a gathering or reception space and any non-UW guests are expected to leave immediately after the event.

Odegaard Undergraduate Library/Odegaard Room 220 has ADA access to and throughout the building. For specific disability accommodations, please contact the Disability Services Office to make arrangements and coordinate efforts with Odegaard Room 220 staff.

Use Policy

Great for using for FAQs, or hiding long sections that you want users to browse through by headings.

Users are responsible for catering arrangements.  Please review requirement from UW Environmental Health & Safety

  • Linens and other appropriate protection are required to prevent heat and food/drink damage to tables.
  • Rental charges run until the room is cleared and locked.

 

The Libraries is currently only accepting alcohol catered through any UW Catering Contracts with Bartending Services Only.

  • No purchased or self-service alcohol will be allowed at this time.*
  • Banquet permits are required to serve alcohol and must be posted on the premises during your event.

  • UUF & ASR Forms required to serve alcohol. See the Alcohol Permit Options from the Office of Special Programs.
  • Service is allowed during your rented event hours and must be consumed within your contracted time.
  • All alcohol must be consumed within your rented rooms, it is not allowed in the hallways or anywhere else inside the library.

If your reservation is accepted and confirmed, and your event is attended by non-UW guests, you must obtain UUF Sponsorship.

Must go through UW Bookstore.

No live music permitted.

Users must arrange for delivery, Setup, and retrieval of projector or any additional media equipment rented. Equipment must be removed promptly after the event.

  • Individuals reserving the room must schedule, plan and expedite all permits, reservations, audiovisual equipment rentals, catering services, and room preparation and restoration needs.
  • The cost of repairs to room, furniture, flooring, or equipment damaged during an event are the responsibility of the sponsoring department and will be charged to the provided budget number.
