Computer, Printing, & Scanning Services

Computers

The Tateuchi East Asia Library has several Access+ workstations near the Information Desk on floor 3.  These workstations require log-in with UW NetID.  These computers offer access to e-mail, the internet, databases and online resources available through the UW, and are equipped with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, as well as a number of other programs.  (See the full list of hardware/software here.)

In addition, there is a bank of computers available for public use (UW log-in not required) near the Information Desk on floor 3.  These Guest Research Stations provide access to library resources, limited access to the internet, and offer read-only versions of the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).  See hardware/software details here.

Printing

Public printing is available to self-service black-and-white prints near the Information Desk (3F).  Print jobs are held in the print queue for 24 hours.  All campus printing is on 100% recycled paper and defaults to double-sided.  (Users may also select single sided printing.)

Mobile/Wireless printing

Users with UW NetID may log into print.uw.edu to upload documents and print directly from their own laptops.

Paying for Printing

  • Black-and-white prints are 12¢ for a single-sided page and 23¢ for a double-sided page.
  • UW students, faculty, and staff, pay with your UW Husky Card.  Add funds to your account on the Husky Card Account website.
  • Non-UW users may purchase a $5 Dawg Prints Card that may be used for campus printing, photocopying, campus food services, and more.

Scanning

Self-service scanning is available on floor 3, near the Information Desk.  Three Access+ workstations (limited to current University of Washington students, faculty and staff) are equipped with scanners.  There is also a Dawg Prints scan station, which offers a slightly larger scanner.

Scanning options:

  • To a USB drive (cannot be a Mac-formatted drive)
  • To a print station
  • To e-mail (non-UW users should ask staff for a temporary NetID)
  • To mobile device
  • To Google Drive

Photocopying

We no longer have a photocopy machine.  You can scan your document(s) and send directly to a print station.

Wi-Fi

Wireless internet access for University of Washington students, faculty, and staff is available throughout the Tateuchi East Asia Library.  (For more information, see ITConnect’s page on Using Wi-Fi at the UW.)  Non-UW users may request a temporary NetID for wireless access.
