Duties
- Provide research help in the Foster Business Library in-person, online, and asynchronously.
- Collaborate with librarians to provide instruction sessions to students in business courses.
- Contribute to student outreach and communication endeavors.
- Participate in the UW Libraries chat and email reference services.
- Contribute to other tasks and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a graduate program at the University of Washington (as of September 2025).
- Interest or experience in reference, instruction, and outreach.
- Strong public service orientation and customer service ethic.
- Experience working collaboratively and communicating with a team.
- Ability to juggle projects, set priorities, and work with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications
- Enrollment in the MLIS program at the UW Information School (as of September 2025)
- Experience and/or demonstrated interest in working with a diverse user population.
- Familiarity and comfort with searching electronic and print reference sources, and ability to perform advanced web searching.
- Teaching experience or experience in providing direct public service in a library setting, especially at reference, information, or circulation service points.

The Foster Business Library supports the information and research needs of students, faculty and staff in the Foster School of Business and business researchers across the university.
This position offers graduate students a unique opportunity to supplement their education with practical subject expertise that is highly transferable to future opportunities.
