Kathleen W. Larson is the assistant dean of University Libraries for Financial and Administrative Services. In this capacity, she works closely with the Dean and Libraries Cabinet on all matters related to budget and finance, supervising the Finance Department, and provides support and guidance to directors about fiscal management.

Kathleen began he career in the Libraries in 2000 in the Health Sciences Library. As Director of Libraries Finance since 2005 Kathleen has been responsible for the financial management of Libraries’ budgets, gifts, endowments, grants, and self-sustaining budgets. Since 2019, she has been the Libraries Unit Readiness Lead for change management activities for the Libraries with UW Financial Transformation. She values customer service and is looking forward to collaborating with others towards this single financial system of record.

From 1990 to 2000 Kathleen worked as the Business Manager in the UW Health Sciences Risk Management office where she provided fiscal and operational management related to risk and liability exposure with the University of Washington Medical Center including working with Quality Improvement and safety compliance. Kathleen began her career in branch banking and then went on to work in the medical insurance industry.

She received her B.A. in Psychology, from the University of Washington, with a concentration in Business Administration.
