Kimanthi Warren has over 25 years of experience in multiple facets of higher education, staff management/training, community engagement, and youth mentorship. She has worked along-side transformative equity and social justice leaders in both private and public sectors. Through her partnerships, Kimanthi has built a legacy of work that has not only improved the social landscapes of the organizations she supported but also established the foundation of sustainable equity-focused resource programs. She has worked at such institutions as Loyola Marymount University (LMU), Brandman University, University of Southern California (USC), and Porterville College. In her most recent special duty assignment, she served as an Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Manager for King County, WA (KC). Her accomplishments include but are not limited to Strategic Lead for the KC Natural Resources and Parks Department Equity and Social Justice policy implementation, One-Stop Staff Training and Assessment Program (over 50 employees/95% success rate), Strategic Lead for the Porterville College 2019 Equity Summit, Co-Chair for Porterville College Breaking Down the Walls Community Building Seminar, Mentor for Power Up Youth Program, Staff Advisor for Black Student Union, and Strategic Lead for the Social Justice Training at Porterville College’s 2021 Faculty Flex Day.

Kimanthi has served on several diversity committees, including the Kern Community College District EEO Diversity Committee, California Association of Student Financial Aid Administration (CASFAA), Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admission Offices (PACRAO), EAB Navigate Collaborative Council, and the USC Community College Alliance. She has also partnered with Human Resources departments to create professional development training programs and launched staff success programs that positively impacted the organizations’ culture and overall productivity. She served as a project lead in implementing campus-wide Customer Relations Management (CRM) Systems. Her project leadership expanded the system’s use from less than one department to over seven departments creating an efficient interdepartmental communication infrastructure. She believes in and exercises the “Respect Principle,” Respect of Person, Respect of Team, and Respect of Community. Kimanthi has a master’s degree in Leadership and Organizational Studies from Azusa Pacific University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration: Computer Information Systems from California State University of Dominguez Hills.
