UW Libraries Operations Updates

UW Bothell and UW Tacoma Libraries may have different operations updates.
Check campus library websites for the most accurate information.

WINTER INTERIM HOURS

  • Saturday, December 14 – Friday, December 20: Most libraries are operating on reduced hours. See hours.
  • Saturday, December 14 – Sunday, January 5: Tateuchi East Asia Library, Music Library and Built Environments Libraries CLOSED

The decision to close these libraries during this period stems from building-wide considerations, and in the case of Tateuchi, this includes the connected buildings of both Gowen and Smith Halls. Building access hours, including security and staffing needs, are determined collaboratively across all departments and with building coordinators that are housed in these buildings, including but not limited to the Libraries.

  • Saturday, December 21 – Sunday, January 5: All Libraries CLOSED

This follows the same operating procedure as winter 2023, and is based primarily on consistently low library usage data for the time period, and in consideration of staffing constraints during the interim session.

Online reference help is still available 24/7 as are all online resources, digital collections and individual research consultations for students and faculty (via Zoom, by appointment).

Website Update and Redesign (ongoing)

UW Libraries migrated its  web site to a new WordPress platform late last year.  This version is an interim update while we work to redesign the entire site on this new platform. Some pages may look different than you are accustomed to. If you see any errors or have trouble finding content, please ASK US online. Thank you for your patience while we work to improve the online experience for all users!
