Laptop Cart

What is the OSC Laptop Cart?

Thanks to Student Technology Fee funding, the OSC has 25 Dell laptops available for pop-up events across the Libraries that support new knowledge creation, translation, or dissemination.

Who Can Reserve the OSC Laptop Cart?

  • Any current UW faculty, instructors, students, and staff interested in offering a workshop (one-off or course-related) matching our OSC Events & Workshops Criteria can reserve the OSC laptop cart for use within the Suzzallo/Allen Library.
  • You may wish to reserve the OSC Presentation Space to use in conjunction with the laptop cart.

NOTE: OSC laptops may not be checked out to individual users or used beyond the context of a workshop/classroom instruction at this time.

Procedure for Requesting and Using OSC Laptops

  • The OSC laptop cart must be requested two weeks prior to your workshop or event.
  • Requests for loading specialized software onto laptops or a subset of laptops will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and determined based on the nature of the request and staff availability to support loading new software.
  • If you wish to test out an OSC laptop to see if it will work for your purposes prior to reserving the Laptop Cart, please email us at [email protected] to schedule a time to view the laptops.

To reserve the cart, email us at [email protected]. OSC staff will respond to confirm your booking of the OSC laptop cart.

Helpful Reminders

  • You will need to log into University wi-fi to use the laptops. It may be helpful to have a temporary wireless password created to share with workshop attendees if they do not feel comfortable using their own wireless login or, if they are not affiliated with UW.
  • Those who reserve the laptop cart are responsible for booking a Libraries companion space within Suzzallo/Allen to hold their workshop. You may wish to reserve the OSC Presentation Space to use in conjunction with the laptop cart.
