UW Libraries prioritizes diversity, equity and inclusion by engaging in multi-stakeholder outreach and an organization-wide strategy to identify needs, objectives and actions to further our mission and impact. We lead this work through an Inclusive Excellence* framework which is aligned with the Libraries’ Strategic Directions, policies, and the University’s mission and values.
Accessibility is a core part of our commitment. We strive to ensure our spaces, services, collections, and digital resources are inclusive and usable for all, including individuals with disabilities. This includes removing barriers, applying universal design principles, and engaging with diverse communities to understand and meet their needs.
Led by the Organizational Development and Inclusion team, dedicated working groups collaborate around a shared vision to advance DEIA across the Libraries.
